Blogging the Katie Show

Traveling to New York City this week to live blog the Katie show was tons of fun. Rachel (@raquelita) of the Lusty Lady blog and I were the “Katie Crew” bloggers in the front row on the set of the Monday September 17 episode featuring 50 Shades of Grey author E.L. James.

I got to meet the 50 Shades author (Erika) and she was lovely, and charming and humble and funny and she signed books for us.

 

I liked spending the day with my 18 year old daughter (those are our shoes in Katie’s greenroom!). We took the train, which is always fun except when you walk three railcars over on a rapidly moving train to the dining car in heels (Coach; consignment shop) you’re not used to wearing and end up looking like a drunk sorority girl and falling into some lady’s lap. Awk.

New York is really all about the shoes, and so is Katie, who looked PHENOM in a dark steely gray (of course) leather (of course!) dress and killer, killer shoes.

I was only on camera for like 1.5 seconds, from what I’ve heard, though I haven’t seen it since I don’t know how to use a DVR. Ha! The bad news: I was bummed not to meet Katie and get a picture with her but the good news? Her super awesome producer said I could just meet her next time I came up to blog. Next time? YES PLEASE, Katie Show! Hollah! Also I pitched them some ideas for katiecouric.com. How amazing would that be?! Wow.

So, the ball was super exciting, but then my overpriced designer jeans turned back into yoga pants, my train turned back into a pumpkin and now I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that I get to go to that fun, fun ball again.
