Crab Picking Contest. I didn't enter, because I was too busy eating what I picked to keep picking.

Went to my first Tilghman Island Day with my two younger kids this weekend. Super fun. I had no idea it was going to be so huge. Luckily I can walk to the fire hall, because there was nowhere to park on the island. It was a wall of people- I don’t even know how the school buses (carrying more people!) got down the street. There were vendors (I may or may not have stolen sea glass jewelry making ideas from one…), cool music, and then mainly really just food.

I was in a delightful seafood coma. There were raw oysters (my fave), steamed oysters, steamed crabs, crab cakes, soft crabs, fried clams… I mean, seriously, it was unbelievable. And fantastically delicious. I missed the apple dumplings, though, because I was a first timer and didn’t get the memo you have to get there early for those. BUMMER! Next year. (Some amazing banana caramel ice cream from the Tilghman Island Country Store came to the rescue.)

Ok, for those of you Pajamas and Coffee readers who may have missed my posts (Funniest Pins will be back this Friday!) in other places this past week, please check out:

Open Letter to My Kids’ Teachers

Thanks for reading!

P.S. Here to find out how novel writing week at the Tilghman Island cottage went? it went quite well, thanks! I doubled the words I had done and really got a feel for “what’s going to happen at the end.” A few more solid writing weekends (and I’m going to go down and work on it during weekdays when the kids are at school, too) and yes, I will have the novel completed in the 30 day timeframe I promised the literary agent in NYC. WORD!
