OH HEY

I have been quite the blog slacker lately. MY APOLOGIES! My last post was about attending 10 festivals this year- the final one is next week. Thrilled to be headed back to Santa Cruz! Hope to see some of you there.

I attended the photography workshop of famous Chesapeake Bay photographer Jay Fleming last weekend and got to meet that very friendly (not rabid!) fox on an uninhabited island (and see crabbing firsthand from the boat). I wrote about trying to learn to use a camera in this article, and am planning to write more about my experiences on the water and about Jay’s incredible work in the future. (Note: last I checked he still had an open spot for his workshop on Hooper’s Island this weekend so if you are around the Chesapeake, get in touch with him at that link above and grab that opportunity!)

In other news, I also wrote recently about a local community art mosaic project, an idea for a cross-stitched apology you can issue to your kids for fucking up their childhood, and tips on how to suck a tiny bit less at surfing – so stop by and check those articles out!

I just finished shipping beach finds to London to a major fashion house- it was thrilling that some of my beachcombed items are being used for color inspiration for future high fashion! I’m looking forward to some great beachcombing at negative low tides soon, enjoying the holidays with family, and looking into 2020 I am working on an exciting book project and some fun ideas for how to share the beach with all of you. Thank you so much for following along with my adventures!
